Scuba Diving in Japan

There is so much to see in Japan, most people don’t think about scuba diving in Japan. However, if you are into diving, you just can’t miss the following spots.

Make no mistake about it— scuba diving in Japan is something that is truly fantastic. There are lots of spots to explore with the Japanese waters, and most of them are highly rewarding. If you do not speak Japanese, it might be worth your while to book a dive trip prior to leaving home. This way, you can find a dive tour company that provides English guides. Otherwise, you will have to scour the numerous dive shops in order to find a guide that speaks your language. Either way, you are sure to remember this dive trip for many years to come.

The Izu Peninsula is a popular spot due to the Philippine plate that fluctuates with the tide. This spot is so popular that you might have to wait in line if you get there too late. Many divers head to this area during the weekend, spend the night, and leave the next morning. Thus, if you want to explore this Peninsula, you might want to head there during the week. Another terrific spot are the Izu Island chains. These seven islands are simply filled with marine life, lots of reefs, and an amazing abundance of interesting volcanic formations.

Other areas to explore include Ogasawara and Okinawa – two superb island spots that will have you gawking in amazement. While North Americans might not think of it, there are many divers throughout Japan. Many people tend to think of the larger Japanese cities when they think of Japan, but foregoing the Japanese aquatic life would be a large mistake if you are into diving. A lot of these waters can be tricky, but there are some spots for beginners as well as advanced divers. Take dive lessons before leaving home in order to ensure a great trip. Scuba diving in Japan is not to be missed…even if you visit those large cities first.

Underwater life greatly changes from area to area. If you think you have seen it all, you will be amazed at all that Japan has in store for you.

Scuba diving in Japan is a great way to explore the world along with all of its offerings. Remember to book that trip now in order to avoid long lines and hold ups once you arrive.
